Shamim Akhtar is a 31-year-old acid attack victim from Lahore. Although, Shamim's life has been filled with hardships but she is one true example of a lady whose spirits are very high. Now being a mother of 6 children, she fulfils her responsibilities with dedication and ensures that her children's basic needs are met. Her husband, Manzar, currently works as an auto-rickshaw driver and earns a small amount of income which is used to manage the household expenses. Unfortunately, due to some accidental damage, his rickshaw's condition has become extremely poor which has led to a decrease in his earnings. Now their livelihood has started to suffer. The children are not getting enough food on daily basis and their education is being affected as there is not enough money to provide for their school fee. Shahmin has sought Seed Out's help through its crowd funding platform. She requires a PKR 210,000 in order to purchase an auto rickshaw for her husband. The new auto-rickshaw will generate better income as Manzar will be able to drive more number of customers and for longer number of hours. This will improve their household income and their children will be able to attend school.
