Waqas Ali, a 27-year-old father of two small kids, lives in a small house in a semi urban area of Gujranwala. Waqas belongs to an underprivileged family and has lived in poverty all his life. However, he does not want to give his kids the same impoverished lifestyle he spent. Since the age of 15, Waqas has been working day and night. He holds a 12 year experience in running a grocery store but because Waqas never had sufficient finances, he could not grow his business or revenue. In order to contribute to the household expenses, Waqas’ wife who is a housewife stitches clothes at home and makes almost PKR 3000 per month. For Waqas it is often difficult to afford medical expenses when one of his children falls sick. Such financial issues makes the situation of the house extremely tense. Waqas has requested a loan of PKR 60,000 in order to take his small scale grocery store business to the next level by stocking up more inventory and purchase goods for daily use. He also wants to increase the range and variety of products which are frequently sold. This way his customers would visit him again and his income would continue to grow. The loan will assist ease the financial pressure on Waqas’. He will be able to improve the living conditions for his family by giving them better healthcare and improved hygiene.
It helps a young family to escape poverty and to provide their kids with better hygiene, healthcare and education.
