A loan of $216 helped to expand a retail shop.
Waheed, 32 years of age, lives with his wife and two young children in Gujranwala, Pakistan. Previously engaged in labor work at a factory for two years before starting his own business enterprise, Waheed has been running a cosmetics store that doubles as a mobile phones and accessories shop for the past three years. Although the nature of these two groups of products may seem dissimilar, Waheed believes there is great potential, in terms of the sheer volume of sales, in his business in the locality. However, Waheed also believes that his operations at the store could largely benefit from an expansion into a larger market. The difference being made up for with his personal savings, Waheed is not in a financially secure position to invest capital into his business expansion. He hopes a loan of $216 from a crowd fund will restore his confidence in his business and enable him to make the leap into a more profitable market.
It will empower a storeowner to find a larger market for his diverse inventory of products.
