A loan of $180 helped expand a school canteen.

50-year-old Kalsoom Akhtar from Bahawalnagar wakes up early every day. As she makes her way to the school canteen that she manages, her only hope is to make enough sales so she can buy food that day and save some money for paying her bills. Kalsoom is a widow. She lost her husband many years ago and has raised her only son all by herself. Her school canteen is her source of sustenance; with no one to support her, she put all her effort in running the canteen for 18 years just so she could take care of her son. Humayon, her son, is grown up now and works in a school as a peon.

Kalsoom manages the household with a lot of difficulties. She also wants Humayon to get married soon and wants to save up for his marriage. She believes that the canteen doesn't have enough variety. If she stocks up the canteen with more items, her sales will increase. For this, Kalsoom needs a loan of $180. Kalsoom is very hopeful that she will be able to save money for the marriage once she upgrades the canteen. To support the dreams of a widowed woman, please donate to Kalsooom.
