A loan of $216 helped to start a grocery store.
Ghulam Jannat is a struggling woman who had to face multiple problems from a very young age. When her children were young, her husband passed away and all responsibilities fell on her shoulders. As helpless as she was, she did not lose hope and remained steadfast for her four children. Her mother-in-law supported her in terms of finances and in taking care of the children. Ghulam Jannat started her small grocery store just outside her house. It went well in the first few months but since she couldn't invest, the stock got exhausted and she had to wrap up. She started stitching clothes at home to earn money but the earnings proved insufficient. As she was unable to cope up with expenses, she was not able to send her two elder daughters to school. Ghulam Jannat wants to start her grocery business again as she believes her income can significantly improve. She has requested a loan of $216 to start a grocery store. She intends to buy stock for the shop just outside her home as she believes her income will improve. She will educate her younger two children and save money for the elder daughter's marriage.
It helps empower a single mother to raise her children well.
