A loan of $108 helped Muhammad Yousaf to start a vegetable sale business.
Muhammad Yousaf is a 37 year-old laborer from Gujranwala, Pakistan. He belongs to a family of ten, which includes his wife and their three daughters and five sons. They inhabit a small house that Muhammad owns. Of his children, the elder two brothers, Muhammad Haroon, 15, and Muhammad, 12, are presently learning the trades of motorcycle repair and glass work respectively; only two of his children attend school, whereas the rest are either too young for school or stay at home. Muhammad himself is a laborer at a factory. Muhammad and his family live in poverty and get by on his meagre salary, as they have no other source of income. However, Muhammad has been considering starting a vegetable sales business in order to supplement his income from the factory. He has accumulated ten years of experience in sales, and he is well informed about the markets for fresh vegetables, their quality maintenance and pricing. For this purpose, Muhammad requires a loan of $108 in order to get the ball rolling. He hopes a little economic investment in the form of donations for his crowd fund will allow him to implement this business plan with comfort.
It will enable a laborer to establish a secondary source of income in order to provide a better life for his large family
