A loan of $144 helped Razia Begum to expand her grocery store.
Razia Begum, a 56-year-old mother of four is driven by her responsibilities as a mother to provide for her children’s needs. She feels that it is her right to extend help to her husband by contributing to the household expenses and for her kids to have a better life. Razia has 2 years of experience in running a grocery store but since her finances and investment were low, the store never generated enough income to fulfill her household’s needs. Both of Razia’s elder sons are working and contribute to the household expenses on monthly basis. Razia’s husband is a bus conductor who receives a specific amount of wage on a daily basis. With income and finances being extremely low, Razia’s family is faced with dire poverty. It was unfortunate for Razia and her husband that they could not afford to send their children to school. Razia does not want her children to end up in poverty. Razia has requested a loan of $144 from Seed Out through its online crowd funding platform to purchase inventory for her grocery store. Since her stock had almost ran out, she will use the donation to buy wholesale products and items which will attract the customers in her locality. As the financial situation of Razia and her family will improve, she will spend more money on having a better quality of meals. Razia’s family will be able to easily manage the house rent and utility bills. It is one of Razia’s heartfelt wish that she sends her kids to school and saves for their higher education.
It empowers a female entrepreneur and gives her the confidence to earn a decent livelihood for herself and her family.
