A loan of $180 helped expand a business of grocery items for sale and become a successful salesperson.
Muhammad Arshad, a 38-year-old man is constantly demotivated and pulled down by the financial struggles of life. Surviving below the poverty line, feeding and fulfilling the needs of his three kids, wife and an old father is a massive task for Arshad each day. He wakes up every morning worried about putting food on the table for the following day. There are times when managing one meal for his family seems exasperating for Arshad. The limited amount of income he earns is through purchasing grocery stock from different vendors and further selling them to smaller grocery stores present in the surroundings of Bahawalnagar. With no other source of income, all the financial burden falls on Arshad's shoulders. He does not want his children to live the life of poverty, he wants to provide them with higher education. Moreover, his 70-year-old father often remains sick, Arshad tries his best to provide him with proper medical care but due to the lack of finances, he is unable to afford most of his medicines. One of the major costs on Arshad is commuting in and out of the city for selling his products to various stores. Also, the conditions of his house are extremely poor, it is in a very shabby state. Arshad has requested a micro-loan of $180 through Seed Out's crowdfunding platform to stock up his grocery items so that he can reach more number of grocery store owners and sell them his products. Increased stock will lead to increased sales and revenue which will eventually improve his financial conditions. Once the earnings of Arshad will increase, he will provide proper healthcare treatment to his old father. He will ensure all his children receive higher education so that they can secure high paying jobs and lead a poverty free life.
It provides a person growth opportunities in business and provides his family with a decent livelihood.
