Help Urooj Fatima, a 20-year-old aspiring environmentalist from Hunza, fulfill her dream of obtaining a BS Honors degree in Environmental Science from GC University.

Urooj Fatima, a 20-year-old from Hunza in the northern region of Pakistan, is a shining example of resilience and determination. She grew up surrounded by the breathtaking landscapes of Gilgit Baltistan, where the majestic mountains and pristine environment have been her constant source of inspiration. Urooj’s passion for her homeland and desire to create a better future has driven her to pursue a BS Honors degree at GC University, Lahore.

Urooj comes from a family of six. Her father, a security guard, is the sole breadwinner, supporting Urooj, her older brother—also in university—and her three younger siblings still in school and college. Urooj's parents have instilled in her the importance of education, hard work, and perseverance despite their financial struggles.

"I am determined to use my education to positively contribute to society. I dream of returning to Gilgit and working on sustainable development projects that will not only benefit my community but also preserve our natural heritage," Urooj shares passionately.

She has chosen to major in Environmental Science, a field that aligns perfectly with her aspirations. With the knowledge and skills she will gain, Urooj plans to address pressing environmental issues, particularly those caused by climate change, which threaten the natural beauty and resources of her homeland.
